Drum Major Clinic
The Drum Major Clinic emphasizes leadership development through a variety of
initiatives. Instruction in instrumental conducting, score study, marching
technique, equipment usage, management theory, and performance evaluations
contribute to building the skills and confidence necessary to serve as an
effective leader.
Over the past 25 years, graduates of the drum major clinic have gone on to lead
and conduct the following ensembles, as well as hundreds of high school bands
throughout the region.

Drum Majors develop skills and knowledge in the following areas:
- Instrumental conducting and score study
- Leadership and management theory
- High step and / or stride marching
- Verbal and whistle commands
- Equipment work, including signal baton spinning
- Field placement and staging
- Salutes
