Housing
On-campus students live in the Akers Residence Hall. Here you will find attractive comfortable sleeping rooms, lounges, dining and recreation rooms. Under the guidance of university counselors, you will receive quality experiences outside of the instructional setting. Students who must arrive early or stay beyond the end of the session should notify the Performing Arts Camp Director.
The room and board price includes room costs for Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights for Camp I; Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights for Camp II. Meals begin with lunch Saturday July 12, and end with lunch on Tuesday, July 15 for Camp I; meals begin Wednesday, July 16 with lunch and end with lunch on Saturday, July 19 for Camp II. Meals before registration or after the conclusion of the camp may be purchased at area restaurants (fast food within walking distance). Commuter students who will not be residing in the dorms for camp are strongly encouraged to buy a meal plan and will eat with the rest of the students.

Dormatory Regulations and Information
The following rules and regulations are established in accordance with State laws and Michigan State University ordinances, and are deemed necessary for the success of the Youth Conference programs. Certain programs may require additional regulations which are specific to the activities and success of such programs. Your cooperation in abiding by these rules is very important. Program participants who violate these regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, which may include being sent home and/or a report being sent to the participant's parents/guardians and school officials. PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS ARE EXPECTED TO ABIDE BY THESE RULES REGARDLESS OF AGE. Parents must also be aware of these regulations.
Major regulations
Violations will result in immediate dismissal from the program and necessary legal action:
- Use or possession of alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, fireworks or other explosives, dangerous weapons or substances, whether on or off campus, is strictly prohibited.
- Tampering with fire alarms, fire-fighting equipment, elevators, or safety and security equipment is strictly prohibited.
- Intentional damage or theft of University or personal property is strictly prohibited. Disciplinary action will include financial remuneration for such damage or theft.
- Members of the opposite sex, excepting parents or staff, are not permitted in participants' living areas, which includes hallways. The formal lounges and public meeting rooms are not considered part of the living areas.
- The residence halls will be closed at 11:00 p.m. All program participants must be in the building at this time as the building will be locked. Program participants must be in their assigned rooms thirty minutes after hall closing each night. Certain programs may require that their participants be back in the hall at an earlier hour. In such cases, the specific program regulation will take precedence over the hall closing time.
Minor regulations
Violations will generally result in first warnings. Repeated violations will result in eventual dismissal from the program:
- Smoking of cigarettes, pipes, or cigars is not permitted inside residence halls or music buildings.
- Gambling is a violation of state laws and not permitted.
- Excessive noise or "horseplay" is to be avoided at all times. The volume of radios, stereos, etc. should never be so loud that it bothers others.
- Participants should not tape items to painted surfaces in their rooms.
- The burning of candles is prohibited.
- All electrical appliances, excepting radios, stereos, etc., may not be used in student rooms. Use is limited to areas designated by the hall staff.
